Use a couple of stackable ice cube trays to store your earrings. Saves desperately sorting them to try and find the missing one when you are in a hurry. 

How often have you sworn at the sticky tape because you can't find the end of it? Next time, save your breath and get some talcum powder or cornflour on your finger and run it around the tape. The edge of it will go white.

Have you ever pulled the chopping board out to use it, only to find that it still smells of the things you chopped up yesterday? Try spraying it with vinegar and then leaving overnight.

Rinse off and the smells should be gone!
